Internal Product Review
The HCS01.1E-W0003-A-03-E-S3-EC-NN-NN-NN-FW is an HCS drive controller with a SERCOS III communication interface and an ECONOMY control section design. Internal air cooling through an integrated blower and IP20 protection support stable cabinet installation and consistent thermal management. A 3 A peak current with 3 x AC 200 to 500 V input gives the unit a practical operating range for compact IndraDrive systems.

Product Description:
The HCS01.1E-W0003-A-03-E-S3-EC-NN-NN-NN-FW is an HCS Drive Controller manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the HCS IndraDrive Controllers series. As design version 1, it forms the regulated link between a three-phase supply, the attached control section, and a servomotor or induction motor. The controller executes current, speed, and position loops so that compact machines such as cartoners, pick-and-place gantries, and small conveyors can operate on a common motion platform without external relay logic.
On the communication side, it accepts real-time commands over SERCOS III, allowing deterministic exchange of setpoints and feedback with higher-level PLCs. Its control section uses the ECONOMY variant, which provides closed-loop drive functions in a simplified configuration. Thermal management is handled by internal air cooling through an integrated blower, keeping semiconductor temperatures within rated limits when the unit is mounted in a cabinet. The housing is protected to IP20, so it provides basic finger-safe protection and requires installation inside an enclosure. For short acceleration bursts, the inverter section can deliver a device peak current of 3 A, which suits fractional-kilowatt axes in compact handling modules.
The power section operates from 3 × AC 200…500 V mains and shares energy over a common DC bus, allowing surplus braking energy from one axis to be used by another. Position feedback enters through the single-cable Encoder IndraDyn Hiperface/EnDat 2.1/2.2 interface, while the second feedback port and the safety interface are left empty to simplify wiring. The drive line is HCS01, which identifies the power section within this product platform. This arrangement leaves only the required communication, feedback, and power connections active in the standard configuration.
