The HCS01.1E-W0003-A-02-E-S3-EC-NN-L4-NN-FW is a modular drive controller from Bosch Rexroth. The controller has a SERCOS/EtherCat communication interface. It also features a multi-encoder interface that allows interfacing with a wide range of encoder. A safety module on the HCS01.1E-W0003-A-02-E-S3-EC-NN-L4-NN-FW provides support for both safe brake control and safe torque off. One slot on the controller basic unit is available for an optional hardware module. The available hardware modules include CANopen, engineering port, Multi-Ethernet, Profibus, digital/analog I/O extension and multi-encoder interface. The controller comes with a standard control panel. This type of control panel does not support hot plug and therefore must be connected to the controller before the latter is powered on. Each HCS controller is comprised of a power section and a control section. The control section contains all the hardware that performs processing related functions.
