It coordinates power conversion and closed-loop motion control between a plant’s PLC layer and connected motors, allowing automated stations to start, stop, or vary speed with millisecond precision. Design version 1 shares a common mechanical footprint with other HCS01 units, so the product can be mounted in tight control enclosures and scaled across multi-axis machines without changing panel depth, bus bars, or service access.
The controller operates from a mains supply of 3 x AC 110…230 V ±10%; this wide range lets a single model cover both 120 V and 208/230 V factory grids. Internal power conversion is cooled by internal air cooling through an integrated blower, eliminating the need for external ducting while keeping switching elements within their temperature limits. A device peak current of 3 A is the highest short-term motor phase current the unit can deliver during acceleration or shock loads. Networked control is handled through MultiEthernet; this multiprotocol port can be configured for EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, or EtherCAT, enabling flexible topologies without additional option cards. DC power sharing across multi-axis racks is managed by the infeeding/fed supply topology, so surplus regenerative energy from one axis can be consumed by another before any excess is dissipated in brake resistors.
