Classified as an HCS drive controller, it combines a power stage with a detachable control section to manage motor torque, speed, and position in automated machinery. The HCS01 designation identifies a compact frame size, and the unit supplies regulated three-phase power while executing motion commands that stay synchronized with higher-level PLC sequences. This architecture supports coordinated motion tasks in packaging, handling, and general automation equipment.
The mains stage accepts 3 x AC 110...230 V ±10%, allowing direct connection to common low-voltage plant supplies. During short acceleration bursts, the inverter can deliver a peak phase current of 9 A. Real-time networking is handled through a SERCOS III master with cross communication channel that links multiple drives in a deterministic loop. Motor feedback is connected through an IndraDyn Hiperface or EnDat 2.1/2.2 encoder interface, and a second communication port supports MultiEthernet for EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, or EtherCAT network use. This combination allows the controller to fit synchronized multi-axis systems as well as Ethernet-based machine networks.
Thermal control uses internal air cooling with an integrated blower, so cabinet air passes across the heat sink without external ducting. The housing has an IP20 protection rating and should be installed inside an electrical enclosure to prevent exposure to dust or moisture. The paired control section is the ADVANCED variant, which provides extended motion and diagnostic functions. The power stage supports infeeding and regenerative DC-link operation, so it can draw energy from the supply and handle returned energy during braking events.
