The HCS01.1E-W0005-A-03-B-ET-EC-EM-S4-NN-FW is a drive controller produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the HCS IndraDrive Controllers series. It functions as the power and command interface between a servo motor and a higher-level PLC, executing torque, speed, and position control loops required in automated cells. Its role is to translate control commands into regulated motor output while maintaining stable axis behavior during starts, stops, and speed changes. By combining control logic with a compact power stage, the device streamlines cabinet layouts and supports precise motion in packaging lines, assembly stations, and material-handling systems. This arrangement keeps motion control and power conversion in one housing, which helps simplify panel design for single-axis installations.
The controller communicates with plant networks through a MultiEthernet port that accepts EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, EtherCAT, and SERCOS telegrams without add-on cards. It can deliver up to 5 A of peak current to the connected motor, which suits small servo axes handled by this HCS01 unit. Supply power is drawn from 3 x AC 200…500 V ±10%, so one unit can be used on both 230 V and 480 V systems. Heat generated by the IGBTs is removed by internal air cooling through an integrated blower, eliminating the need for external ducting. An enclosure rating of IP20 means the unit is finger-safe but still requires installation inside a control cabinet.
Design Version 1 is shipped with the control section classified as Basic, matching the selected power stage in this configuration. Interface 1 accepts feedback through an IndraDyn encoder interface with Hiperface/EnDat 2.1/2.2 connection, allowing the drive to process motor position data directly. Interface 2 provides encoder emulation for devices that require a replicated feedback signal, which can support integration with existing control hardware. The DC bus supports infeeding and fed operation, so surplus braking energy can be shared with neighboring axes on the same bus. No additional design features are included in this version.
