The HCS01.1E-W0005-A-03-B-ET-EC-EC-S5-NN-FW is a compact drive controller manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the HCS IndraDrive Controllers series. Its role in an automation cell is to convert three-phase line power and fieldbus commands into regulated motor currents, delivering accurate speed, torque, and position control on a single axis. Housed inside a control cabinet, it bridges the plant PLC to the connected servo or induction motor so that conveyors, gantries, and feeders execute their programmed motion profiles with repeatable precision. This arrangement suits machines that need one integrated axis per module while keeping control functions inside the cabinet.
The controller accepts a supply of 3 x AC 200…500 V ±10%, allowing use on a wide range of industrial power grids. Communication occurs over MultiEthernet, which supports EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, and EtherCAT on the same network interface to simplify wiring. Peak output capability reaches 5 A, setting the upper limit for acceleration and braking currents. A protection rating of IP20 means the unit is touch-safe but requires enclosure inside a panel. Thermal energy is removed by internal air cooling through an integrated blower; the built-in fan moves cabinet air across heat sinks, eliminating external cooling circuits and keeping dimensions small.
The power section is factory paired with the BASIC control layer. Position feedback is processed through dual ports specified as IndraDyn encoder feedback with Hiperface or EnDat 2.1/2.2, allowing compatibility with several Rexroth motor feedback formats. The dual encoder ports also let feedback selection match the connected motor without adding a separate interface module. Energy is exchanged on a shared DC bus through the infeeding and fed topology, which can reduce line current in multi-axis systems during changing load conditions. The hardware is design version 1, which is the initial release in the HCS01 line.
