The DMA 140D 9101-D is an air cooled three phase module manufactured by Bosch Indramat. The unit comes with CANrho and CANopen interfaces with standard encoder interface. There is only a standard Servodyn-D series variant. The DMA 140D 9101-D has a mass of 19.3 kg and module width of 200 mm. Two built-in fans provide the necessary thermal exhaust. Max current at 4 kHz switching frequency is 87 A (continuous load). The DMA 140D 9101-D has a current demand of 1.58 A from 24 V power supply. Depending on the heat sink and ambient temperatures the module is capable of automatically limiting the maximum current to better suit the thermal limit of the power semi-conductor.

The DMA 140D 9101-D has a maximum installation altitude limit of 1000 m above sea level for performance in accordance to the rated data. Installation at higher altitudes up until 3000 m is possible but performance and unit parameters will need to be adjusted accordingly. Similarly, a temperature limit within 0 to 45 degrees Celsius is necessary for the DMA 140D 9101-D to function optimally. Higher temperatures up till 55 degrees C will first see performance deviations and further temperatures will cause thermal damage. Climactic Category is 3K3 according to EN 60 721.

The DMA 140D 9101-D has a protective category of IP 20 and must only be installed in switch cabinets with a rating of IP 54. All air entries and exits must have dust filters installed to prevent contaminants from accumulating in the surrounding and potentially damaging the unit. Shocks with force up to 15 g can be withstood with no functional disturbance and vibrations within the 2-150 Hz range are resisted.
