The DMA 85B 6311-D is a new generation drive controller produced by Rexroth Indramat. This controller can carry out effective position control in three-phase modules thus it is perfect for both synchronous and asynchronous motors. The DMA 85B 6311-D drive controller operates following the international electromagnetic compatibility standard and the low voltage directive. The drive controller requires a high-voltage power supply for efficient operation; thus it is not suitable for applications in the residential environment. Special markings and symbols and symbols are integrated into the body of the controller to draw the user’s attention to special circumstances. The meaning of each of these warning symbols is clearly stated in the controller’s documentation.
The housing of the DMA 85B 6311-D drive controller is structured to allow for the easy movement of air in and out of the drive, also its unique structure allows operators to easily install the controller into an external switch cabinet which provides the controller with additional protection. The DMA 85B 6311-D drive controller is also integrated with a PROFIBUS-DP which controls the communication between the drive controller and other parts of the servo system. The controller is sensitive to high temperature thus it should not be operated at ambient temperature that exceeds +55 degrees Celsius as this can damage sensitive components in its power circuit.
