The DMA 140D 6111-D is a Servodyn-D series three-phase module. The ServoDyn-D inverter system from Bosch Rexroth is a modular system comprising of supply modules, axis modules and interface modules. Three phase modules such as the DMA 140D 6111-D are designed for operating motors which can be of the synchronous or asynchronous variety. Motors compatible with the DMA 140D 6111-D include asynchronous motors with absolute encoder or gear encoder, built-in motors with absolute encoder or gear encoder, asynchronous motors without an encoder for U/F characteristic control, synchronous linear motors with the LC 181 length measuring system, SF series motors with integrated encoder for speed / position control and SR series motors with integrated resolver for position / speed control. The ServoDyn-D systems meets highest demands on positioning accuracy, speed range and dynamics when used with synchronous motors.

Interface provided on the DMA 140D 6111-D is Profibus DP. Other module features are one axis positioning, standard encoder interface and convection cooling (backplane mechanics). Mechanical specifications for the module include 200 millimeters width and 19.3 kilograms weight. Performance specifications include 140 Amps peak current and 42 Amps rated current. The DMA 140D 6111-D requires 24 Volts DC input, consumes 1.58 Amps current from the power supply and dissipates 700 Watts as heat inside the control cabinet. Environmental specifications include 0 to 45 degrees Celsius operating temperature, -20 to 70 degrees Celsius storage temperature and 5 to 95% relative humidity. The protection rating of the three-phase module housing is IP20 and Bosch recommends use of IP54 rated switch cabinet for installation of the DMA 140D 6111-D.
