The DMA 085B 8001-D is a servo drive module produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat and supplied within the DMA Servo Drive Modules series. It is a three-phase power stage for synchronous and asynchronous motors, converting shared DC-bus energy into controlled armature currents so positioning and speed tasks in industrial automation can be executed. The module is intended for rack-based systems that separate the power stage from higher-level control and feedback functions. In a multi-axis cabinet, it supplies the controlled current needed for acceleration, speed regulation, and deceleration on production machinery.

To operate, the module draws a control supply of 1.35 A at 24 V, while the main DC bus is maintained between 670 VDC / 715 VDC. This voltage range supports both motoring and regenerative operation without nuisance overvoltage trips. During fast dynamic cycles, the unit can deliver up to 86 Arms on a 4 kHz current loop, and thermal dissipation does not exceed 380 W. The module has a width of 100 mm, which helps it fit compactly into an RMB/DM backplane. This narrow format leaves room for adjacent modules in densely packed cabinet layouts. The drive does not include an encoder interface, so feedback must be handled by other rack components or by drives with integrated evaluation.

When the switching frequency is raised to 8 kHz, peak output falls to 63 Arms. Continuous output is rated at 47 Arms at 4 kHz and 31 Arms at 8 kHz, which helps set current limits for connected motor circuits. Overall mass is 11.5 kg. Cooling air is moved by two integrated fans in the backplane, with airflow taken from the control cabinet and discharged behind the rack. An analog 10-bit U/f setpoint interface allows simple speed or voltage reference commands from legacy controllers. That interface is suitable for simple command structures that do not require a digital fieldbus. Wiring is limited to mains, the DC link, motor phases, and setpoint leads.
