The DMA 030A 1301-D is a three-phase drive module produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat in the DMA Servo Drive Modules series. It is used with synchronous and asynchronous motors to supply regulated power to a motor axis and to exchange motion commands with higher-level controls inside an industrial automation cabinet. Its power stage converts shared DC bus energy into controlled AC output, while the SERCOS setpoint interface passes velocity and position commands to the module during operation. Because it works from a common DC bus, the module fits multi-axis systems in which several drives share one power platform. This arrangement helps keep cabinet layouts organized and supports coordinated motion across connected axes.
The internal DC link is stabilized at 670/715 VDC, providing the voltage headroom needed for high-speed motion. At a 4 kHz switching frequency, the module delivers a rated current of 8.9/18 Arms in open-loop and closed-loop modes, while an 8 kHz carrier limits the rating to 5.1/12 Arms because faster PWM increases switching losses. Short bursts are handled by maximum currents of 35/28 Arms at 4 kHz and 32/23 Arms at 8 kHz, allowing strong acceleration without thermal shutdown. Derating from 45 °C to 55 °C is 0.35 A/K, so the available current decreases in a predictable way as ambient temperature rises within that range.
Total dissipation at full load is limited to 180 W, and a single fan moves air across the backplane heat sink for backplane air cooling. This arrangement keeps thermal management at the rack level and avoids the need for a large dedicated cooler on each axis. The control electronics draw 1.23 A from the cabinet's 24 V supply, which must be included in low-voltage power planning, and the standard encoder interface supports position feedback from many Indramat servo motors. The housing width is 50 mm, giving the module a compact footprint for dense multi-axis racks. A mass of 7.3 kg supports slide-in mounting on the RMA/DM 30 backplane and helps the module seat securely in a multi-axis assembly.
