Product Description:

The DMA 015A 4101-D is a servo drive module manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the DMA Servo Drive Modules series. It is a three-phase controller for synchronous and asynchronous motors and includes a one-axis positioning function, so motion tasks can be executed without an external PLC. The module mounts on a backplane bus and receives DC link power through that bus. In an automation cell, it converts analog velocity and torque commands into regulated motor currents while using air drawn through the rear of the cabinet for cooling.

At the factory default switching frequency of 8 kHz, the power section delivers up to 14 Arms in open-loop mode while maintaining a closed-loop continuous rating of 8.5 Arms. These current limits set the maximum electromagnetic torque that the connected motor can develop under dynamic and steady-state conditions. The internal DC link operates at 670 VDC regulated and 715 VDC unregulated, giving the drive headroom for regenerative braking events. Control electronics draw just 1.14 A from the 24 V service supply, so auxiliary power cabling can remain compact. An analog 16-bit setpoint interface and a standard encoder port connect the module to higher-level motion control and feedback devices, while the backplane fins support air cooling for the power semiconductors.

The drive releases approximately 185 W of heat into the cabinet, so that heat must be removed by the installed airflow path. When ambient temperature rises above 45 °C, output capability decreases by 0.24 A/K, allowing predictable derating up to 55 °C. The unit has a depth of 288 mm and a height of 521.5 mm, while its 50 mm width matches the backplane format used for shared bus bars and the cabinet airflow corridor. It is used with medium-power single-axis gantries, indexing tables, and material-handling actuators.
