The DKS01.2-W100A-DS01-02-FW is an intelligent digital servo drive built by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the DKS Intelligent Digital Servo Drives series. As a digitally controlled power stage, it matches torque and velocity commands with feedback from DSF encoders to run MDD synchronous servomotors in automated machinery. The unit conditions three-phase mains power, produces a regulated DC bus, and provides closed-loop current control so axes can accelerate, position, and hold loads in industrial automation cells. This arrangement helps the connected motor respond accurately to changing load conditions during indexing, speed regulation, and point-to-point motion.
On the supply side, the drive accepts 3 x 230 V AC through a three-phase power connection and internally rectifies it to a stabilized 300 V DC bus. Nominal operation dissipates 480 W as heat, which is removed by a passive heat-dissipation section rather than an integrated blower. Continuous armature current is 50 A, while short overload events can be supported by a peak channel of 100 A, which is also the rated current. Pulse-width modulation operates at 4 kHz, reducing motor current ripple and keeping acoustic output within the standard noise class. DSF encoder inputs close the current and velocity loops for stable motor control across changing speeds.
Dynamic braking energy is handled by an internal bleeder resistor that can absorb 0.5 kW continuously and tolerate surges up to 18 kW during rapid deceleration. The housing has an IP 10 rating, so the drive must be installed inside a protected electrical cabinet, and airflow across the heat sink helps remove operating heat. A maximum apparent input of 11 kVA guides upstream fuse and contactor sizing for the power connection. During frequent braking cycles, regenerated energy is diverted away from the shared DC bus to help prevent overvoltage.
