Bosch Rexroth Indramat manufactures the DKS01.2-W100A-DA01-01-FW. This unit is a digital servo drive in the DKS Intelligent Digital Servo Drives series for control of MDD servomotors. In automated packaging stations, pick-and-place gantries, and material-handling axes, the drive converts three-phase mains power into controlled DC link energy and pulse-width-modulated output so a higher-level controller can command precise motion profiles. Its control circuitry coordinates speed and position feedback from a DSF resolver so the motor maintains accurate response during changing load conditions. That closed-loop arrangement supports stable motor behavior during acceleration and deceleration.

The power section accepts 3 x 230 V AC and routes it through a rectifier to a DC bus stabilized at 300 V. Under rated conditions, the drive supplies 100 A of continuous phase current, while the mains side can draw up to 28 A at full axis demand. Current is modulated with a carrier frequency of 4 kHz, which sets the timing of the torque-producing voltage pulses and helps limit audible switching noise. Command signals arrive through an analog incremental encoder emulator, and the internal DSF resolver converter supplies position data to the control loop. A 4 mA diagnostics output reports general status to external control hardware.

A bleeder resistor dissipates regenerated energy with a continuous capability of 0.5 kW and a short-term ceiling of 18 kW, which helps prevent DC bus overvoltage during rapid deceleration. Base heat generation of 480 W outside the bleeder path is removed through the housing, and the IP10 protection class requires installation inside a cabinet with airflow. The cabinet must provide enough air movement to carry that heat away during continuous operation. Signal and power conductors can extend up to 75 m, and operation is permitted up to 1000 m elevation without derating. Additional parameters include a 625 mA X9 logic supply and standard acoustic emission. The drive is version 2.
