The DKS01.1-W100A-RS01-01 is an intelligent digital servo drive manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the DKS Intelligent Digital Servo Drives series. It regulates torque, velocity, and position for AC servo motors used in factory automation cells, packaging machines, and material-handling gantries. By combining power electronics, a resolver feedback channel, and a SERCOS command interface, the drive serves as the axis-level controller between motion commands and the mechanical load. This allows the unit to respond to commanded speed changes and positioning moves without relying on a separate axis processor at the motor.
During continuous operation, the power stage delivers 50 A of output current. Energy is stored on an internal DC link held at 300 VDC, which gives the inverter the voltage margin needed for motor control and normal regenerative events. The input section accepts a three-phase line supply of 3 x 230 VAC ±10%, so it can be used on common 230-volt industrial systems without a separate transformer. Current modulation is executed at 4 kHz, balancing switching behavior and audible noise. Regenerated energy is dissipated continuously by a bleeder resistor rated at 0.5 kW, which helps control DC-bus voltage during routine deceleration cycles.
For short braking events, peak bleeder capacity rises to 18 kW, allowing the drive to absorb brief surges of returned energy. The control electronics remain active from an auxiliary 24 VDC supply, so communication and stored settings stay available when the main input power is removed. When the drive accelerates a motor at full torque, its apparent power demand can reach 11 kVA, a value used when selecting upstream protection and feeder capacity. Internal switching heat is removed through basic heat-dissipation surfaces, and the drive can operate in ambient temperatures up to +55 °C when cabinet airflow remains unobstructed.
