The DKS01.1-W100A-DS56-00-FW is an intelligent servo drive produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the DKS Intelligent Digital Servo Drives series. It interfaces with torque-controlled synchronous motors and provides closed-loop motion control for automated machinery lines, packaging stations, and material-handling axes. By regulating current and voltage to the connected motor, the drive converts commanded position and velocity profiles into the electromagnetic torque needed for repeatable industrial motion. The unit processes control commands in real time so the motor can respond accurately during indexing, feeding, and synchronized axis movement.

The drive accepts a three-phase supply of 3 × 230 V AC (±10%), which is rectified to energize the internal DC link. During motor deceleration, surplus energy is dissipated through an internal resistor rated for 0.5 kW continuously and capable of 18 kW in short bursts, which helps prevent DC-bus overvoltage. This arrangement allows regenerated energy to be absorbed during normal braking events without interrupting drive operation. A continuous output of 50 A supports steady-state motion, while pulse-width modulation at 4 kHz shapes the stator current for the DSF feedback system. Heat generated by the IGBT stage is removed through passive heat dissipation, and the IP10 enclosure is intended for protected cabinet mounting.

On the DC link, the bus is held at 300 V, enabling rapid current rise to the specified peak of 100 A during brief acceleration events above the continuous rating. Under full load, the power section loses 480 W, and the mains side must be sized for 11 kVA to cover drive demand and regeneration overhead. Cabinet airflow must carry away this heat so the electronics remain within their operating temperature range. Reliable operation is permitted up to 55 °C ambient and 1000 m elevation when adequate cabinet airflow is provided. The DSF encoder interface supplies digital position feedback so the control loop can monitor rotor position continuously during motion and holding states.
