Product Description:
The DKS01.1-W100A-DS50-01-FW is a digital servo drive manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the DKS Intelligent Digital Servo Drives series. It is installed between a motion controller and a servo motor to regulate torque, speed, and position in automated machinery. By modulating power electronically rather than mechanically, the drive supports precise motion cycles required in packaging lines, material-handling axes, and similar industrial processes.
This model draws power from a three-phase supply of 3 x 230 V AC and outputs up to 100 A of controlled motor current, giving it the capacity to handle large acceleration demands. Inside the unit, energy is buffered on a link stabilized at 300 V, allowing rapid exchange of regenerative power without voltage sag. Power devices switch at a carrier frequency of 4 kHz, which balances dynamic response with acceptable switching losses and acoustic noise. When every axis is active simultaneously, the installation must reserve 11 kVA of apparent power to keep the DC bus and control electronics within their rated margins. Heat produced by power losses is removed through passive cooling, and the drive has a humidity class F rating for operation in moist production environments with up to 100% humidity without condensation.
During overhauling events, the integrated braking resistor can absorb bursts of 18 kW while sustaining 0.5 kW continuously, preventing DC-bus overvoltage and eliminating the need for external dump modules. Worst-case internal loss is 480 W, and installation elevation must remain below 1000 m to preserve cooling efficiency. Electronics are protected to IP10, so the area must be free of airborne conductive dust. An integrated holding-brake control circuit simplifies wiring to motors that include electromechanical brakes, and noise emission is classified as standard for factory environments. For setup and diagnostics, a RS-232 interface provides access to operating parameters, and the unit is version 1.
