The DKS01.1-W100A-DS01-01 is a digital servo drive from Bosch Rexroth Indramat in the DKS Intelligent Digital Servo Drives series. As the power stage in a servo system, it converts incoming electrical power into controlled motor current for compatible MDD permanent-magnet motors. This allows packaging, material-handling, and machining axes to follow commanded motion with stable torque and speed control. Its closed-loop operation supports repeatable axis behavior during acceleration, steady running, and deceleration. Motion commands are exchanged through a SERCOS fiber-optic ring, and the unit is Version 1. Passive heat dissipation through the aluminum housing keeps cooling simple, and the noise level remains standard for cabinet installation.
During operation, the drive accepts a three-phase mains supply of 3 × 230 V AC and rectifies it to an internal DC bus of 300 V. From that bus, the power section delivers up to 100 A of continuously regulated phase current, and switching takes place at 4 kHz. The enclosure has an IP 10 rating, which is suitable for protected cabinet mounting rather than exposed machine surfaces. Digital servo feedback of the DSF type closes the torque loop, while integrated monitoring helps protect the PWM stage during abnormal conditions. Communication and diagnostics pass through the optical SERCOS interface, and the interface board draws 100 mA from an external 24 V DC supply.
Energy returned during motor deceleration is routed to an internal bleeder resistor that can absorb 0.5 kW continuously and up to 18 kW for short bursts. Total conversion and control losses are limited to 480 W, so the cabinet needs enough free space around the housing for convection airflow. The front profile measures 170 mm across the mounting flanges, which helps with panel layout and side-by-side spacing. That width is straightforward to plan around when the drive is installed beside other motion components, especially when adjacent modules also release heat into the enclosure. Free airflow around the chassis supports heat removal from the bleeder circuit and the power semiconductors.
