Bosch Rexroth Indramat’s DKS01.1-W100A-DA01-01-FW is a closed-loop motion controller in the DKS Intelligent Digital Servo Drives series. Classified as a digital servo drive, it converts three-phase mains energy into controlled DC power for synchronous or induction motors used in automated machinery. The unit interfaces with higher-level PLCs to regulate torque, speed, and position, allowing compact cabinet installation where fast response and precise motor regulation are required in assembly lines, packaging stations, and material-handling axes.
It draws a three-phase supply of 3x 230 V AC with a tolerance of ±10% at industrial frequencies of 50–60 Hz, rectifying this input onto a DC link that is stabilized at 300 V. The drive can deliver a continuous motor phase current of 100 A, so power modules, fuses, and conductors must be sized for that level of RMS current. To absorb regenerated energy during deceleration, an internal resistor dissipates 0.5 kW continuously, which helps prevent DC-bus overvoltage when connected motors act as generators. Heat generated by the power stage is routed to the housing through conduction paths for natural heat dissipation, resulting in a maximum device power loss of 480 W at full load.
During high-inertia braking events, the same bleeder can accept short bursts up to 18 kW, safeguarding the DC link without auxiliary choppers. When the installation demands rapid acceleration across several axes, the drive’s input stage may draw 11 kVA, so upstream circuit breakers should accommodate inrush and sustained consumption under peak throughput. The enclosure has a protection class of IP 10, indicating open-frame ventilation, and output must be derated at ambient temperatures above +55 °C. Continuous service remains possible up to 1000 m elevation, but current and power must be reduced above that altitude in line with the derating curves, and the noise emission is standard.
