Product Description:
The DKS01.1-W100A-D is a digital servo drive produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for its DKS Intelligent Digital Servo Drives series. It interfaces between a machine’s motion controller and the connected servo motor, modulating power through pulse-width switching so that speed and torque follow commanded setpoints. By integrating current regulation, position feedback processing, and fault monitoring, the drive streamlines installation in automated packaging, handling, and machining equipment that requires precise closed-loop motion.
The drive accepts a three-phase supply of 3× 230 V AC (±10%) across an input frequency range of 50–60 Hz. Mains energy is converted to a regulated internal bus of 300 V DC, which the power stage chops at a 4 kHz PWM carrier for smooth motor operation with low audible noise. During rated operation the current delivered to the motor windings can reach 100 A, so cabinet wiring and protective devices must be sized accordingly. When the axis is fully loaded, the converter draws up to 11 kVA from the plant mains; designers use this figure to verify transformer and feeder capacity.
Dissipative braking energy is routed to an onboard resistor that handles 0.5 kW continuously and tolerates surges up to 18 kW during rapid deceleration events. The power electronics themselves release about 480 W of heat at maximum electrical load, and the specified cooling method is natural heat dissipation, so enclosure airflow must remove this thermal output. Reliable performance is maintained within an ambient range of +5 to +45 °C; operation inside that window avoids derating of current or switching frequency. Additional environmental limits include installation altitudes up to 1 000 m and a housing that meets IP10 per DIN 40050, making the unit suited for clean, closed electrical cabinets.
