The DKS01.1-W050A-RA02-02-FW is a digital servo drive produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the DKS Intelligent Digital Servo Drives series. In an automation cell, it regulates the current and velocity loops of an attached AC servo motor while exchanging power with the plant mains. The drive serves as the power and control stage between the incoming supply and the motor, allowing closed-loop torque and speed regulation during indexing, feed motion, and short-cycle positioning tasks. Regenerated energy is routed into an internal bleeder resistor, which supports precise positioning and rapid deceleration on packaging, material handling, and machine-tool axes.

The drive delivers a continuous motor phase current of 50 A and accepts a three-phase supply of 3 x 230 V AC (±10%) at 50 to 60 Hz. A rectifier converts that input into a 300 V DC internal bus, and switching devices modulate it at 4 kHz to create a sinusoidal output for the motor. This switching process allows the controller to shape motor current accurately during acceleration, steady running, and braking. Maximum input current is 25 A, and rated power demand is 9.5 kVA. Under full load, the converter dissipates 305 W, so cabinet airflow must remove that heat. Surplus kinetic energy is absorbed by a bleeder element rated for 0.35 kW continuously and 9.4 kW at peak, which helps prevent excessive DC-bus voltage during deceleration. The unit has standard noise emission and is intended for cabinet mounting with forced-air paths.

Environmental tolerances include full-load operation at +45 °C and derated operation up to +55 °C. At higher ambient temperatures, output must be reduced to limit thermal stress inside the cabinet. Storage is permitted from −30 °C to +85 °C, and installation elevations up to 1000 m require no derating. The enclosure’s IP10 class limits ingress to solid objects larger than 50 mm. It does not protect against water, so the drive is intended for dry, protected enclosures. The unit can draw up to 25 kVA when multiple axes brake at the same time, so mains feeders and fusing must accommodate that demand.
