Bosch Rexroth Indramat manufactures the DKS01.1-W050A-DL02-01-FW, a member of the DKS Intelligent Digital Servo Drives series. The drive serves as a closed-loop interface between a motion controller and synchronous servo motors. It uses DSF encoder feedback to monitor motor response during operation. It converts mains power into regulated DC and pulse-width-modulated output so axes can hold position, accelerate, or decelerate according to programmed profiles in automated assembly, packaging, and material-handling equipment.

It accepts a three-phase supply of 3x 230 VAC (±10%) within the 50 to 60 Hz mains band, allowing installation on standard factory grids. Inside the converter, rectification and smoothing establish a 300 V DC intermediate circuit that feeds the IGBT bridge switching at 4 kHz; this carrier frequency sets the current modulation applied to the motor. The drive draws a rated phase current of 50 A, and the upstream distribution must be sized for a maximum apparent power of 9.5 kVA. Heat generated under these electrical loads is removed by passive dissipation through the housing, keeping semiconductor junction temperatures within limits while overall device power loss remains 305 W. Because cooling is convection based, the unit does not rely on a built-in blower or liquid circuit. Noise emission is standard, and installation is permitted up to 1000 m above sea level without derating.

During continuous motion cycles the drive limits output to 25 A, a value that helps prevent thermal stress on the power modules. Excess regenerative energy is routed to the integrated bleeder resistor, which can dissipate 0.35 kW continuously and withstand surges up to 9.4 kW, protecting the DC bus from overvoltage. Reliable operation is permitted from +5 °C up to 45 °C, and it extends to 55 °C with current derating when cabinets lack active cooling. The device has an IP10 protection class. It uses convection heat sinks instead of forced air.
