The DKS01.1-W050A is a digital servo drive manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the DKS Intelligent Digital Servo Drives series. Supplied as Version 1, it interfaces with CNC or PLC motion controllers to regulate torque, speed, and position on a single axis. A protection class of IP10 indicates that the unit must be installed inside a control cabinet because its ventilation openings are not sealed against dust. Within an automation cell, the drive translates command words into precise motor currents, enabling accurate, repeatable movement for packaging, assembly, and material-handling equipment.

The power section accepts a three-phase feed of 3 × 230 V AC, and its converter can supply up to 25 A of instantaneous load current while maintaining a continuous rating of 50 A. Pulse-width modulation at 4 kHz shapes the output and produces switching losses limited to 305 W. Line infrastructure must therefore sustain a maximum apparent demand of 9.5 kVA. A 4 mA current channel or a ±10 V DC voltage channel is available for analog status or command signals. Thermal control relies on passive heat dissipation through the aluminum housing, so no external fan is required. The design meets humidity class F requirements, and the noise emission is standard. Balanced loading across three input phases helps maintain power-factor targets and minimizes mains distortion.

The DC link is held at 300 V DC, allowing the drive to recycle energy during braking. It can continuously absorb 0.35 kW of regenerated power and tolerate peaks up to 9.4 kW without exceeding its internal thermal limits. Operation is permitted up to 1000 m above sea level, and output must be derated above that altitude because of lower air density. Regenerated energy is returned to the DC bus during braking, which helps keep bus voltage stable during deceleration.
