It is intended for use with Indramat servo motors that use resolver feedback, converting incoming line power into a controlled DC bus and a pulse-width-modulated motor output. This arrangement lets the drive respond quickly to changing load conditions during positioning and speed-controlled operation.
The power section accepts a single-phase supply of 230 V ±10%, and it can deliver a continuous armature current of 30 A to the connected servo motor. After rectification, the internal link circuit is held at 300 V DC, providing a stable energy reserve for acceleration and regenerative events. To manage excess energy, the integrated bleeder circuit can absorb short bursts up to 5.0 kW, while the switching stage operates at 18 kHz to reduce audible noise and improve current resolution. Resolver inputs handle both encoder and feedback duties, so motor position and speed information can be returned through the same feedback system. The bleeder resistor has a continuous thermal capacity of 0.30 kW, so routine deceleration cycles can be handled without an external braking module. The maximum ambient operating temperature is 55 °C, and the output current must be derated above that point to prevent overheating. Full performance is available up to 1000 m above sea level. The enclosure has an IP10 protection class, so the drive must be installed inside a closed electrical cabinet. That housing is suited to protected panel mounting where accidental contact and airborne debris are controlled by the enclosure around the unit.
