The DKS01.1-W030B-DS24-04-FW is a closed-loop servo drive manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the DKS Intelligent Digital Servo Drives series. Acting as the power stage between a motion controller and a synchronous motor, it interprets command data, monitors encoder feedback, and shapes three-phase current for accurate axis motion. This control method helps the drive correct position and speed deviations during operation. In automated packaging lines, pick-and-place units, and gantry systems, the unit supplies the regulated power needed for precise and repeatable movement.

It accepts a mains supply of 230 V AC (±10%) and converts that input into controlled phase currents of up to 30 A per line. A switching frequency of 18 kHz drives the insulated-gate transistors, which helps reduce ripple and limit audible noise. During motor deceleration, an internal resistor network removes excess regenerated energy and can dissipate 0.3 kW continuously while tolerating short regenerative peaks up to 5 kW. The housing uses passive heat dissipation, so no additional fans are required, and cabinet airflow remains simpler. The enclosure has an IP10 rating, which helps prevent accidental contact with live parts, but the drive still requires installation inside a protective cabinet to keep out dust and liquids found on the factory floor.

The shared DC link inside the inverter is held at 300 V, allowing multiple DKS units on the same bus to exchange braking energy with stable voltage conditions. Full output is maintained until ambient air reaches +55 °C, provided the installation remains within 1000 m above sea level. Above those operating limits, the unit must be derated to control semiconductor temperature. This operating profile makes the drive suitable for multi-axis systems that cycle frequently between acceleration and deceleration.
