The DKS01.1-W030B-DS03-01 is a digital servo drive produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the DKS Intelligent Digital Servo Drives series. As an axis controller, the unit conditions power, monitors feedback, and issues torque commands to synchronous or induction motors in automated machinery. It is used for closed-loop speed and position control and communicates with higher-level PLCs through the interfaces used in this drive platform. By combining power conversion and feedback processing in one unit, it can manage motor response during acceleration, holding, and repeatable positioning cycles. This arrangement supports accurate motion on packaging, handling, and general machine axes.

During operation, the drive handles a phase output of 30 A from a mains source of 230 V AC (±10%). That supply is rectified to an internal DC bus of 300 V, and the IGBT bridge switches at 18 kHz to generate the motor voltage. The higher carrier frequency helps reduce audible switching noise and supports smooth current control during low-speed operation. This switching method lets the controller shape phase current more precisely, which is useful when the motor must hold speed under changing load. The housing has an IP10 rating, so the unit is intended for installation inside a protected cabinet where free convection can remove heat.

For braking events, the integrated bleeder dissipates regenerative energy at 0.3 kW continuously and can absorb peaks up to 5 kW during short decelerations. The bleeder circuit helps prevent excess regenerated energy from raising the DC bus voltage during abrupt stops or deceleration ramps. Full current delivery is supported at ambient temperatures up to +55 °C when the installation remains below 1000 m elevation, and the drive applies automatic derating outside those conditions to protect the power semiconductors. Long-term storage from -30 °C to +85 °C allows the unit to be kept in unconditioned indoor storage areas before installation. Version 1 uses reduced-noise gate timing to limit acoustic output while preserving servo response.
