The DKS01.1-W030B-D is a digital servo drive manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the DKS Intelligent Digital Servo Drives series. In an automation cell, it interfaces between the motion controller and a synchronous motor, regulating torque and position while recycling excess kinetic energy through an internal bleeder circuit. By combining control electronics and power modules in a single housing, the unit simplifies cabinet layouts for indexing tables, packaging axes, or material-handling gantries. This integrated arrangement also reduces the amount of separate hardware needed between the controller, power stage, and motor connection points.

The drive’s bleeder stage can dissipate 0.3 kW continuously and absorb surges up to 5 kW during rapid deceleration, which helps prevent a DC-bus overvoltage fault. The power section accepts a three-phase supply of 3 x 230 V (±10%), and the rectifier converts that input to an internal bus held at 300 V. The inverter is rated for an output of 30 A and modulates motor current at 18 kHz for smooth switching behavior. This switching method reduces audible noise and supports stable current control during acceleration, steady running, and braking.

Operation is permitted up to 55 °C when derating rules are applied, and full performance is maintained below 1000 m where air density supports convective cooling. Above that altitude, additional current reduction is required to limit thermal stress on the power components. Heat from the semiconductors is removed through directed heat dissipation, which helps the drive maintain low noise during operation. The enclosure has a protection rating of IP10, which provides finger-safe access but still requires installation inside a closed control cabinet. The drive is version 1 and can report supply quality, bleeder activity, and ambient trend data to the higher-level controller.
