Bosch Rexroth Indramat manufactures the DKR05.2-W500N-BE23-01-NNNN-FW as a digital intelligent AC drive controller in the DKR Drive Controllers series. Its role in industrial automation is to convert a three-phase supply into regulated DC-bus energy and deliver it to high-power servo or spindle motors for coordinated speed and torque control. This makes the unit suitable for demanding motion tasks in machining centers, printing presses, and material-handling axes where stable power conversion and closed-loop regulation are required.

Communication with the machine control system occurs over the SERCOS interface, providing real-time transfer of setpoints and diagnostic data. Internal thermal management relies on a built-in air blower, which forces cabinet air across the heat sinks to control semiconductor temperature during operation. The power stage sustains a nominal motor current of 500 A, and the drive is supplied without a brake chopper, so regenerative energy must be handled by an external resistor or returned to the supply. Position and velocity signals are processed through digital servo and resolver feedback, which supports compatibility with high-resolution encoders as well as resolver-based feedback devices. The assembled drive weighs 550 kg, so lifting equipment is required when the unit is moved or mounted. Its enclosure is finished in Pebble gray, which matches common industrial cabinet colors.
