Internal Product Review
The DKR04.1-W400N-BE79-01-FW is a digital intelligent AC drive controller with a SERCOS command interface. Air cooling from the built-in blower supports dependable thermal management, and ca. 93 kW continuous drive power suits demanding motion applications. The rigid DC bus configuration and 3xAC 400 to 480 V rated power input make this unit a strong choice for high-capacity servo systems.

Product Description:
The DKR04.1-W400N-BE79-01-FW is a digital intelligent AC drive controller manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the DKR Drive Controllers series. As a high-power modular unit, it regulates torque, speed, and position for large synchronous or induction servo axes on production lines, machining centers, and material-handling cells. Integrating the controller into automated equipment enables closed-loop motor control, coordinated motion, and energy-efficient operation wherever precise process synchronization is required.
At the power stage, the drive accepts a rated supply of 3 x AC 400 to 480 V ±10% and uses a separate AC 230 V control circuit, isolating high-energy switching from low-level electronics. When operated at a switching frequency of 4 kHz, it can deliver a continuous output of 93 kW and a sustained phase current of 210 A, while short transients are supported by a peak capability of 282 A. The current rating code 400 corresponds to the internal busbar and IGBT sizing used for this output class. A rigid DC bus is used without a brake chopper, so excess regenerative energy must be handled externally. Digital servo and resolver feedback channels allow the controller to close current and velocity loops with 32-bit resolution.
Thermal stability is maintained by a forced-air path. The built-in air blower moves enough airflow to remove 2500 W of switching losses, eliminating the need for external liquid coolers. Despite its output class, the unit weighs 150 kg, allowing cabinet mounting with standard lifting hardware. Real-time axis commands are exchanged through the SERCOS interface. This communication method aligns with version 01 function modules, design level 1, and line series 04. The unit also supports mixed feedback operation and does not include an internal bleeder.
