The DKR04.1-W400N-BE37-01-FW is a digital intelligent AC drive controller built by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the DKR Drive Controllers series. Within an automation cell, it coordinates torque, speed, and position control for large synchronous or induction motors by exchanging commands with higher-level controls. By combining power conversion with motion regulation, the unit serves as the interface between the machine control system and the connected motor. It is intended for cabinet installation in high-power machining centers, gantries, and forming presses, where high current capacity and closed-loop control are required.
Signal exchange occurs through the SERCOS interface, linking the controller and the motion CPU for cyclic command transfer. The control electronics operate on AC 230 V ± 10%, while the power section is energized by 3 x AC 400 to 480 V ± 10%. During brief peaks, the output current may reach 282 A. Motor position is closed-loop through digital servo and resolver feedback, allowing the controller to process commutation and motion signals within the same platform. Cooling is provided by a built-in air blower, and this airflow removes switching losses of 2500 W under nominal load. This forced-air cooling method removes heat without requiring a liquid cooling circuit.
