Bosch Rexroth Indramat manufactures the DKR04.1-W400N-B within the DKR Drive Controllers series. It is a digital intelligent AC drive controller intended to regulate high-power servo axes in industrial automation lines, machining centers, and transfer systems. In service, the unit converts incoming electrical power into controlled motor current so that connected axes can follow commanded torque, speed, and position profiles with repeatable response. Version 1 belongs to line 04 and provides a consistent platform for systems that use 400 to 480 V supply networks and closed-loop motion control.
At a PWM carrier frequency of 4 kHz, the drive sustains a continuous armature current of 210 A, which corresponds to an output capability of approximately 93 kW under steady thermal conditions. Short-term demand can rise to 282 A, allowing the controller to support rapid acceleration and other brief overload events without interrupting normal motion control. This overload capacity is useful when the axis must overcome inertia at startup or recover speed after a process disturbance. The power section operates from a three-phase mains supply of 3× AC 400–480 V ±10%, while the logic and I/O circuits use a separate AC 230 V ±10% control supply. This separation keeps the control electronics supplied independently from the main power section and supports stable command processing during normal machine operation.
Cooling is provided by a built-in air blower, and the airflow removes as much as 2500 W of heat during full-load operation. Forced airflow through the enclosure supports thermal stability in high-duty cycles where natural convection would not be sufficient.
