Product Description:
Bosch Rexroth Indramat builds the DKR04.1-W400E-BE73-01-FW for the DKR Drive Controllers series. It is a Digital Intelligent AC drive controller intended for high-power servo axes in metal-cutting centers, press lines, and automated handling equipment. In these systems, the controller converts incoming electrical power into regulated motor current so the axis can follow commanded speed and torque values with repeatable response. The unit uses an external bleeder with a rigid DC bus, so regenerated energy is sent to a brake resistor through an integrated chopper and DC-link overvoltage is limited during rapid deceleration or load reversals.
Data exchange with the machine PLC is handled over the SERCOS interface, giving deterministic cyclic control of velocity and torque loops. At a 4 kHz switching frequency, the drive supplies a continuous current of 210 A and continuous usable shaft power of 93 kW. The logic electronics are powered by a separate AC 230 V ±10% control supply, while the power stage connects to a mains input of 3×AC 400–480 V with the same tolerance. This split supply arrangement supports stable control operation while the main power section handles motor demand. Cooling is provided by a built-in air blower that keeps semiconductor temperatures within limits. Line series 04, design version 1, and function module version 01 indicate the product generation.
During dynamic peaks, the inverter can deliver 282 A to overcome momentary inertia or friction spikes. Under these conditions, it releases up to 2500 W of heat, which must be removed by the cabinet ventilation system. Digital servo and resolver feedback channels allow the controller to operate with a wide range of Bosch Rexroth and third-party motors without extra interface boards. That feedback flexibility supports use in retrofits as well as in new multi-axis installations where motor types may vary by machine section. Despite its power density, the device weighs 150 kg, which should be considered for panel support and lifting.
