Bosch Rexroth Indramat supplies the DKR03.1-W200Z-BE24-01-FW, a digital intelligent AC drive controller in the DKR Drive Controllers series. Designed for multi-axis machining centers and heavy conveyor systems, the unit modulates stator voltage and frequency to coordinate high-power servo or spindle motors within tightly controlled position, speed, and torque loops. The controller communicates with higher-level PLCs through the SERCOS interface, allowing deterministic cycle times for motion profiles generated in the drive. Position and velocity feedback from motors is processed via digital servo and resolver feedback, so the controller can work with either encoder-based or resolver-based motor signals. Its control functions suit applications in which servo and spindle axes must respond quickly to changing load conditions without losing motion accuracy.

During continuous operation at a 4 kHz switching frequency, the drive delivers 92 A of current, translating into roughly 35 kW of mechanical power at the motor shaft. For short acceleration bursts, it can supply up to 141 A, allowing machines to overcome high inertial loads without oversizing the motor. The power stage is fed from a mains supply of 3x AC 400–480 V (±10%), while internal logic circuits rely on a separate AC 230 V control voltage window. A built-in air blower channels cooling air across the heat sink to maintain semiconductor temperatures. Current rating code 200 in the type designation matches the drive to motors with the appropriate phase current. This operating range supports both steady production duty and short peak-demand events during indexing, conveying, or spindle acceleration. The unit is part of Line 03 and uses function module version 01.

Under continuous duty, it converts switching losses into about 1200 W of heat, so cabinet ventilation must remove that thermal load. This heat figure is useful when sizing cabinet airflow or an external heat exchanger in enclosed installations. Despite the size of the power stage, the housing weighs only 49 kg, which helps when the unit is mounted in existing control cabinets.
