Inside an automation cell, it links CNC or PLC motion outputs to the mechanical load while adding closed-loop regulation, protection functions, and diagnostic reporting for high-throughput tasks. That arrangement helps the controller maintain stable axis response during rapid changes in speed and load.
At the control level, velocity and torque references enter through an analog interface and are digitized for internal processing. At a switching frequency of 4 kHz, the power stage delivers 120 A of continuous current, translating into 47 kW of usable shaft power. The logic and gate drivers use an auxiliary supply of AC 230 V, ±10%, which helps isolate the control circuitry from line disturbances.
