It operates as a compact axis amplifier that converts three-phase line power into a regulated DC link and pulse-width-modulated outputs for servo or induction motors. In automated packaging, material handling, and pick-and-place cells, the unit closes the control loop between feedback devices and the motion program to maintain repeatable positioning accuracy.

Inside the controller, the DC link is stabilized at 300 V, which serves as the energy reservoir for the output stage.
