Product Description:
The DKC05.3-LK-CAN01 is an interface module supplied by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the DKC Drive Controllers series. Classified as an EcoDrive accessory, it provides a CANopen communication channel so the controller can exchange real-time data with higher-level PLCs or neighboring drives in an automation cell. By installing this option card, the base drive gains fieldbus capability without altering the power electronics, allowing coordinated axis control and standardized diagnostics in industrial machinery. This arrangement supports distributed motion systems in which command words, status data, and fault messages must move with predictable timing.
The card uses a D-SUB connector built to the DS102 hardware pattern in a male layout. All nine contacts are available through a 9-pin interface; pins 3 and 6 serve as protective grounds, pin 5 carries the cable shield, pin 7 is dedicated to CAN-H, and pin 2 routes CAN-L. Six status indicators on the front panel provide visual feedback, so the module includes 6 diagnostic LEDs. The fixed assignment supports consistent CANopen network wiring inside machine cabinets and helps reduce pin-mapping confusion during integration. The module uses design level 3, and the host drive recognizes it as interface option 05 so the correct baud-rate limits and timing constraints are maintained.
At the protocol layer, the module complies with the DS301 V3.0 CANopen profile, allowing standardized object dictionaries and emergency messaging. Each direction supports 2 process data objects, and every PDO carries 8 bytes. The available PDO channels support cyclic control exchange, while service data messaging is used for parameter reading and writing. The module also accepts service data frames with up to 16 bytes of payload for parameter access. Signal integrity between the drive logic and the fieldbus is protected by completely decoupled galvanic isolation, which helps prevent ground loops when several EcoDrive units share a common network. This separation is useful when several drives share one network segment but do not sit at exactly the same ground potential.
