The DKC03.3-016-7-FW is an EcoDrive controller produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the DKC Drive Controllers series. In an automated cell, it regulates the power stage of synchronous or induction motors and coordinates motion with higher-level PLC commands. By converting a DC-bus supply into variable output voltage and frequency, the unit serves as an intermediary between plant power distribution and servo actuators, providing closed-loop speed and torque control for material handling, packaging, and assembly machinery.

This model supplies a continuous output of 16 A while its logic circuitry operates from a 24 VDC control input. The DC bus is energized at 700 V, allowing a peak output line-to-line voltage of 800 V. For high-speed positioning tasks, the inverter section can modulate up to 1000 Hz. These electrical limits are supported by a 20 A semiconductor fuse that disconnects the drive when short-circuit or ground-fault events occur. Thermal derating begins once ambient temperature exceeds 45 °C, and the drive must be current-limited further when cabinet air reaches 55 °C. Internal control electronics consume 21 W, so an auxiliary supply channel must deliver that steady load regardless of power stage demand.

The housing measures 65 mm wide, 360 mm high, and 261 mm deep, dimensions that let it fit on a standard DIN rail with 150 mm of required top clearance for airflow. At full regenerative braking, the power section sheds up to 180 W as heat, so the cabinet must provide a suitable exhaust path or external filtering arrangement. Installation uses design 3 with interface option 03, so the fieldbus connectors and feedback terminals are placed along the front panel. A 700 V link bus bar mates directly to adjacent drives so multiple axes can share energy without oversize cables.
