The DKC02.3-040-7-FW is a Bosch Rexroth Indramat EcoDrive controller in the DKC Drive Controllers series. It belongs to hardware series 02 and uses design version 3, with interface option 02 for fieldbus or point-to-point communication. In an automation cell, it modulates DC bus energy to control synchronous or induction motors for speed, torque, and position tasks. Its compact rack format suits machines that need closed-loop motor control without a large standalone drive package. That makes it suitable for packaging, handling, and other motion systems that require accurate motor response in a small control cabinet.
The controller operates on a DC bus held at 700 V, which supplies the working voltage for the power stage. During acceleration, the inverter provides a rated current of 40 A, and short bursts reach 40 A for Peak Current 1, while Peak Current 2 is 16 A at 4 kHz or 12.5 A at 8 kHz. A continuous current of 12.5 A is available at 8 kHz, which matches the thermal capability of the semiconductors during sustained operation. The internal capacitor bank has a capacitance of 0.27 mF to smooth regenerated energy before it is dissipated. A bleeder network absorbs dynamic energy and can handle 5.0 kWs per event. It can also dissipate up to 10 kW momentarily when the DC link exceeds 850 V, and a factory-installed 60 Ω soft-start resistor limits inrush during power-up. The housing weighs 5.7 kg, so it remains relatively easy to position in a cabinet and does not add much load to the mounting structure.
