Bosch Rexroth Indramat manufactures the DKC01.3-016-7-NN-FW, an EcoDrive unit in the DKC Drive Controllers series. The controller converts three-phase mains into a regulated DC bus and pulse-width-modulated output, allowing coordinated speed and torque control of servo axes in factory automation lines, packaging equipment, and material-handling cells. It supports the series’ modular hardware concept, so machine builders can combine multiple axes in a shared cabinet while maintaining individual parameter tuning. The device handles feedback processing, current regulation, and braking energy management required for precise motion sequences.
The control section operates on 24 VDC and draws up to 17 W to power the logic circuits, gate drivers, and encoder interface without imposing a large load on the cabinet power supply. Behind the rectifier, a nominal DC bus of 700 V stores energy for rapid motor acceleration and deceleration. The inverter bridge can deliver a continuous phase current of 16 A, and carrier modulation supports output frequencies as high as 1000 Hz. This combination enables responsive operation of low-inductance servomotors. Protection features supervise bus voltage, device temperature, and overcurrent events, and the internal dissipation of 130 W is removed through the aluminum heat sink and forced-air flow used for this frame size.
Rated for supply voltages from 200 to 480 VAC, the controller tolerates line fluctuations of ±10% without derating, and its three-phase input path can withstand fault currents up to 42000 A RMS. Mechanical integration is simplified by the 65 mm width, 229 mm depth, and 287 mm height, while a mandatory 150 mm clearance above the unit channels exhaust air. At a mass of only 3.2 kg, the drive places minimal stress on DIN rail or panel fixtures. Reliable operation is permitted up to 45 °C at full rating, with reduced capability permitted to 55 °C for high-temperature enclosures.
