The Bosch Rexroth DDS03.2-W015-BE23-01-FW is a DDS controller with SERCOS master communication. The SERCOS interface plugin module makes it possible to operate a digital drive with SERCOS compatible controls via a fiber optic cable. It also offers inputs for evaluating reference switches, travel range limit switches and sensor inputs. Data rates supported by SERCOS include 2 / 4 Mbps. For drive controllers equipped with SERCOS you need to order fiber optic cable connections (cable and connector or ready-made cables). The rated output of the DDS03.2-W015-BE23-01-FW is 15 Amps. This rating is valid as long the controller operates under specified ambient conditions. The ambient conditions specified by Bosch include 0 to 45 degrees Celsius temperature, maximum 95% relative humidity and maximum 1000 meters elevation. The controller dissipates heat inside the control cabinet.

Bosch also manufactures controllers that dissipate heat outside the cabinet. To ensure smooth airflow, Bosch recommends 40 millimeters of free space on the front of the controller, and 80 millimeters on the top and bottom sides. The DDS03.2-W015-BE23-01-FW supports two motor feedback methods: resolver feedback and digital servo feedback. This enables use of DDS03.2 controllers with motors that support either of these feedback methods. The DDS03.2-W015-BE23-01-FW is a modular device. Its firmware is ordered separately from the hardware. The basic unit of the controller has five slots for plug in modules. Slot U1 is occupied by the SERCOS interface. Slot U5 is occupied by the software module. The remaining three slots are available for optional plug in modules. Input rating of the controller is 24 Volts DC.
