When AC servo motors such as those in the MDD, MKD, LAR, and LAF series are combined with the drive controllers in the DDS series, rapid-response drives are obtained. The rapid-response drives by Bosch Rexroth are used in textile machines, printing and packaging machines, robotics, and handling machines. These DDS drive controllers are also components of the modular and highly flexible DDS drive system.

The DDS02.2-W050-BE95-01-FW is a model of the drive controllers in the Bosch Rexroth DDS drive system. It is designed for motors with digital servo feedback and resolver feedback and can be connected to all Indramat supply units with a regulated DC 24V voltage. The cooling option here is heat technology, where heat is eliminated within the control cabinet housing the drive controller. Hence, a large control and air conditioning are required for its optimal operation. This control cabinet also houses the supply unit connected to the drive controller and has an IP 10 Ingress Protection rating according to EN 60529.

A SERCOS plug-in module in the DDS02.2-W050-BE95-01-FW is used to control digital drives with SERCOS-compatible controls. The module also supplies inputs used to evaluate reference switches, travel range limit switches, and sensor inputs. In addition, it uses a fiber optic cable to exchange data. This DDS drive controller model has a rated current of 50A and a DC bus voltage rating of  300V with ±15% allowance. It supports the use of firmware which fixes the functions of the drive controller, but it must be ordered separately. The protection category of the DDS model is IP 20 according to EN 60529, meaning it does not admit solid extrinsic objects over 12mm.
