In the DDS02.1 line of drive controllers, Bosch Rexroth has set up flexible models that can be configured for several functions by the use of modules. For instance, they can easily be used to create one drive package with AC servo motors and main drives so that only one supply unit is required. Also, in conjunction with MDD, LAR, and MKD AC motors, they can function as rapid-response drives.

The DDS02.1-W015-DS13-01-FW is a compact, modular drive controller model that belongs to Bosch Rexroth’s DDS02.1 line of drive controllers. It is made up of a basic unit, compatible with plugin modules, software modules and firmware. The supply voltage required for its operation is 300V with a ±15% allowance while its peak and maximum continuous current values are 15A each. It is compatible only with motors that use digital servo feedback for the determination of the motor’s position. For its cooling, this drive controller utilizes cold technology where airflow outside the control cabinet is used for cooling the device.

The communication module of the DDS02.1-W015-DS13-01-FW is SERCOS and this uses a fibre optic cable for communication with the drive. Due to its modular and compact design, the drive controller is easy to mount in a safe-saving control cabinet which also serves to protect the device. The cabinet housing has an IP 10 Ingress Protection rating according to DIN 40050.
