The Bosch CSH01.1C-PL-EN1-NNN-MD1-S1-S-NN-FW is a control unit. It is an advanced and configurable control unit. Other types of available control units are basic and basic universal. The different types of control units differ in terms of slots for plugin modules, configurability and other software features. The CSH01.1C-PL-EN1-NNN-MD1-S1-S-NN-FW includes an integrated RS-232 serial interface. This interface allows communication with other serial-enabled devices such as terminals and computers. Eight different options for master communication are available for CSH series devices. These options include MultiEthernet, Profibus, SERCOS and SERCOS III. The CSH01.1C-PL-EN1-NNN-MD1-S1-S-NN-FW features a parallel interface for master communication. A safety module with safety technology I/O is installed on the control units. Two other modules including encoder HSF/RSF and digital I/O extension are also installed. The control unit only works with a standard control panel.

The standard control panel has a single-line digital display. It is not suited to hot plug and must not be connected or disconnected when the control unit is switched on. The control panel must be connected to the CSH01.1C-PL-EN1-NNN-MD1-S1-S-NN-FW before the unit is switched on, otherwise it is not recognized. The control panel display shows operating states, error diagnoses and warnings. The four-button keypad on the control panel is used to communicated with the commissioning tool or NC control unit. The keypad is also used to trigger simple commands. Functions that you can enable from the standard control panel are: set drive address, set transmission power for SERCOS, view error memory, set analog outputs and start basic load defaults procedure. A firmware type plate attached to control unit identifies version of the installed firmware. Customers need to order the control unit firmware as a separate subposition.
