As a single-axis Advanced control section, it plugs into a matching Hxx05 power stage to regulate one drive axis in industrial automation. It executes motion algorithms, supervises I/O, and coordinates network traffic within a multi-controller cell. Three optional slots also accept additional safety boards or communication interfaces.

An analog current converter inside the unit resolves signals to 11 bit, while the separate voltage channel works at 13 bit. This gives fine measurement granularity on both input types. For fieldbus connectivity, the control section supports Multi-Ethernet, allowing parameter exchange over standard industrial Ethernet variants without hardware changes. The controller provides 11 discrete inputs, and the entire block can be scanned as a single image. Five of those points can be reassigned as outputs or probes, giving flexible configurable DIO.
