Bosch Rexroth Indramat manufactures the CSH01.3C-NN-ENS-EN2-CCD-S2-S-NN-FW, a plug-in motion control section in the CSH Advanced Controllers series. Installed in an IndraDrive power module, this card converts fieldbus commands into precise current and velocity references for connected servo axes used in packaging machines, pick-and-place robots, and processing lines. It supervises encoder feedback and coordinated safety I/O, enabling the drive to execute real-time positioning tasks while meeting factory functional-safety requirements.
The analog front end is designed for dynamic reference tracking, and its input channel offers a bandwidth of 1.4 kHz with an input resistance of 160 kΩ, which minimizes loading on upstream signal sources. For drive-controlled setpoints, the board provides a voltage output that can source 1 mA per channel, with a step size of 19.5 mV/inc to support fine resolution during ramp generation. Despite these signal-processing functions, the section draws only 8.5 W from the DC bus. Additional hardware limits inrush current to 4 A, and the digital inputs recognize a logical high at 15 V. Network parameterization is performed over the 100Base-TX engineering interface without removing the unit from its slot.
During cyclic operation, the card exchanges drive status and synchronization telegrams through SERCOS III cross communication, while master communication remains disabled to reserve bandwidth for motion data. The dual encoder connectors accept IndraDyn, HIPERFACE, 1 Vpp, TTL, and EnDat 2.1 formats, and fast position capture is supported with a probe pulse width of 4 µs and a maximum strobe width of 100 ms. Each digital output can switch loads up to 500 mA for brake release solenoids or actuators. The integrated safety logic is rated at SIL2 / Cat. 3 PL d, allowing safe-torque-off and safely-limited-speed functions to be certified without external relays.
