For local signal conditioning, the controller provides two high-resolution analog channels. Each channel refreshes within 10 µs, delivers up to 5 VDC at 1 mA, and must drive at least 5 kΩ to stay within the linear range. Twelve digital inputs accept 24 VDC, 3 mA signals from limit switches or proximity sensors, while eight transistor outputs source up to 500 mA for solenoid valves or status lamps. A relay pair rated at 24 VDC and 1 A isolates higher-power notification circuits from the logic domain. The module also hosts CANopen and DeviceNet links, allowing deterministic fieldbus exchange of setpoints, status words, and diagnostic registers with neighboring nodes on the machine network. Encoder interface 1 supplies 11.6 VDC at 300 mA to power incremental feedback devices.

The second encoder port supplies 5.0 VDC sensing voltage with 350 mA available for high-resolution EnDat or Hiperface sensors, supporting tight loop closure without back-driving the I/O rail. Up to 1.1 A of external 24 V logic power can be fed through the I/O connector so that field devices remain energized during drive brownouts. Axis parameters are stored on a removable MultiMediaCard, while integrated Safe Motion functions monitor velocity and position against certified limits.
