Bosch Rexroth Indramat builds the CSH01.2C-PL-ENS-NNN-CCD-NN-S-NN-FW as a plug-in control section for multi-axis drive assemblies within the CSH Advanced Controllers series. The module routes motion, fieldbus, and diagnostic data between a drive and higher-level automation equipment, allowing the drive to execute position, velocity, and torque commands without an external PLC. It implements a parallel interface for direct command exchange, while SERCOS III master capability lets several drives share timing information over the controller backplane.

The control electronics accept a supply of 24 VDC and dissipate 8.5 W during normal operation. At power-up, the inrush current can reach 4 A for as long as 100 ms, so the upstream supply must tolerate this pulse. Engineering access is provided through a 100Base-TX port, and cyclic process data can also pass through the parallel link on connector X15. Cross-communication between drives is handled by the SERCOS III master mode on ports X24 and X25. Digital inputs switch on above 15 V and off below 5 V, while seven outputs source 500 mA each with a combined ceiling of 1000 mA. The outputs withstand 400 mJ of single-pulse energy from inductive loads, and a relay contact rated at 1 A DC at 30 VDC is included for auxiliary signaling.

Analog test signals leave the board at 1 mA peak with 8-bit resolution. The RS-232 service port transmits up to 115 kBaud for service communication. Encoder feedback is processed through the ENS interface for 1 Vpp and Hiperface signals, and the converter digitizes sine-cosine tracks with 12-bit precision while supplying 11.6 VDC at 300 mA to the sensor. It also accepts TTL marker pulses up to 400 kHz. Differential incremental channels are filtered at 500 kHz (-3 dB) to reject high-frequency noise, and the controller monitors inductive energy limits and disables channels when protective thresholds are exceeded.
