Bosch Rexroth Indramat’s CSH01.1C-SE-ENS-MEM-MD1-S2-S-NN-FW control section belongs to the CSH Advanced Controllers series. Installed in IndraDrive modular drives, the unit coordinates motion axes and safety functions in industrial automation cells. It provides the application processor, the communication interface, and the MD1 I/O sub-module required to link feedback devices, drives, and higher-level PLCs. By taking over real-time motion tasks, it frees the main control system to focus on sequencing and process logic.

The primary communication link to the drive bus is SERCOS II, allowing cyclic setpoint exchange with deterministic latency. For test benches or master encoder duties, the section offers a 1 MHz emulation output and can generate both absolute SSI and incremental pulse trains at the same time. Position feedback sources connect through the IndraDyn, HIPERFACE®, and 1 Vpp interface, and the sensor supply can deliver 500 mA at an internally regulated 11.6 V. When the controller is energized, the power stage experiences an inrush of 4 A that lasts roughly 100 ms. After that, the board draws only 7.5 W during normal operation. Safe Motion technology is integrated so drive-based safety functions are executed without external relays.

Local machine wiring is handled by the MD1 module with 12 digital inputs and 8 digital outputs. Each input expects a 24 V signal at 3 mA, while every output can source 24 V at 0.5 A for actuator coils or indicator lamps. An additional safety relay contact rated at DC 24 V / 1 A is available for emergency stop chains that must remove drive enable when a fault is detected. Because the logic block consumes little power and closes the safety loop internally, panel heat dissipation and external safety hardware requirements are minimized.
