Real-time communication is handled through SERCOS by way of the X20 transmit and X21 receive ports. The digital I/O section operates from DC 19-30 V and draws up to 1.1 A, which allows connected field devices to share the same supply source. The MEM card can generate position pulses at 1 MHz, supporting fast command updates for demanding motion sequences. Incremental or SSI output signals can be produced, and external encoders receive a regulated 5 V supply from the controller.
