Installed on a compatible power module, it executes position, speed, and torque loops for electric drives used in packaging lines, gantry loaders, and machining centers. The card also maps fieldbus telegrams to local I/O so that remote PLC commands can actuate sensors, brakes, or contactors directly from the drive stack.

The module accepts differential command voltages within a span of ±10 V, which accommodates most process controllers while preventing overdriving of the internal converters. Those inputs have an impedance of 160 kΩ, so upstream devices are not heavily loaded. An integrated analog output can supply 5 V, 1 mA, providing diagnostic or reference signals to external meters. Deterministic real-time motion data moves across a fiber-optic ring that uses SERCOS II communication, ensuring synchronous updates between multiple axes.
